Ben's party

This entry is more about how I created the theme for his party. If you know us well you know we are Gators, we bleed orange and blue! So naturally Ben's first birthday theme was gator!

All starts with a cute invite.
I did the invites using a card kit I found at Target that came with cards, envelopes, and the green paper. I cut out the gator from one I found on the website I ordered his shirt from. (So they matched)
I decorated with his monthly picture next to his gator (Albert).
I got the cable and kit from Ikea, it worked out perfectly to hang all the pictures I took of him each month to show how much he's grown and changed.

With my sister's help and the help of Hello Cupcake we decorated the cupcakes as gators.

I made 3 kinds of cupcakes: Vanilla, Hot Chocolate, and Applesauce with Buttercream frosting. For the gator shaped "cake" I made 24 mini cupcakes and we laid them out on a cookie sheet, the scales were Oreo cookie 100 calorie packs, the teeth were shaped marshmellows, and the eyes were frosting and M&Ms.
These were free hand

Orange and Blue balloons and a gator football player... must have!

The shirt is from Izzy B Designs, Jerica makes amazing shirts!

Ben had a great time eating his Applesauce cupcake!

Weekend Bits

I know, I've been a slacker and haven't updated in a while. To see pictures from the end of February visit here: http://neubauers.shutterfly.com/
Since we've been home from our trip to Florida we had a surprise visit from Grandpa and Carol.

He's pushing the walker around everywhere and loves to crawl into and sit in his little racetrack.
His school did a Mardi Gras parade and he had a great time pushing his shoebox float around on his walker. He was a champ.
Now on to this past weekend...

Ben had a rough one, he spent quite a bit of time like this... He cut 2 teeth Friday night but I believe there are still more coming.
But he did cheer up for enough time to have a play date with a neighbor's little boy Phillip
Phillip is 6 months old and a cutie. They will have many fun play dates in the future.

Daddy had his first putting lesson with Ben
