Santa...

Daycare had picture day with Santa today and since we hadn't made it to the mall to have his picture with Santa, I of course HAD to be there.Craig and I decided to dress him up in the Ugly Christmas Sweater I had gotten him for our annual party that didn't happen this year since the Gators stunk at Football.
Daycare has started giving him his paci because he's been going around and "collecting" all the other kid's pacis to chew on them. Still doesn't suck on it.

No smiles??

Nope...
Needless to say he wasn't thrilled about meeting Santa, I tried twice and he just wasn't having it! Oh well. Santa is still going to bring him a toy!

Weekend Tidbits

Keeping track of him in the cozy cabin was easy

The new cabin!

The cold weather has brought some rosy cheeks, hanging out in his Go-Pod while we eat dinner.

First Snowman!

We drove for about 45 minutes up into the Smokey Mountains to find snow that hadn't melted from snow fall they had earlier in the week. We found a picnic area.

A waterfall just off the road. One side was still flowing while the other was frozen.

Icicles!

Grandma and Grandpa gave him a bath.

He does sleep!! He fell asleep around 7 that night but of course woke up at 2:30 and wanted to play instead of going back to sleep.
After we left the cabin and drove back to Atlanta this is what the cabin looked like...
Bummed we missed it but maybe another time.

Weekend Tidbits

Friday night I went to Advent by Candlelight at church, it was a very nice night with the other ladies from our church.
Susan, Amy, and I
Then on Saturday we went to Kinsey Family Farms in Cumming to cut down our Christmas tree. Fraser firs are not grown locally in Georgia (you have to go to North Carolina for that), so we got a leyland cypress.

Having fun at the farm!

Family photo!
Sunday I started trying to decorate our tree and my twinkle lights didn't work so it is on hold until after I go to Target.
But we did complete another project... We moved Ben's mattress down, since he is pulling himself up it was time. Our little boy is getting big.

We ran some errands Sunday evening and then stopped at Corner Pizza for dinner. When they brought the pizza to the table I had to do some rearranging and moved Ben's veggies too close to him, after she walked away we looked at Ben and he had dumped the entire container of pureed baby food on him and the highchair. Then began to wipe it on his face and hair.
The picture is a little blurry, he was a Hot. Mess.

Ben's Lucky Day!

Yesterday when I came home my newest prize winnings was waiting for me...

A KidCo Go-Pod

it is their newest product, a portable activity center. It folds up to the size of a bag chair. I'm so excited about this since Ben loves the Exersaucer and the Jumperoo, it will be very handy to have this for trips or even while visiting friends.

We set it up and I attached a few toys to it put him in and it was this...
Really the only picture I got that his mouth was closed, he was giggling so much...
and this...
I see many fun times in the future!

Ben is one lucky dude to have a lucky mom like me... he's one of the first kids in the country to have Go-Pod!!

Photo Challenge- Scenic B&W

This is the first time I'm entering this contest but I captured this image when we were in San Francisco of the Golden Gate Bridge and it really stuck with me, we could crop it and leave just the bridge and fog but the biker riding by just made the photo more interesting.

Weekend Tidbits

Busy weekend.
But to begin the weekend I'm going to rewind to Tuesday when I met Bobby Flay and picked up his Throwdown cookbook!
We can now return to the regularly scheduled program...
Since it was Halloween I bought some pumpkins to make baby food for Ben, anyone that knows well me knows I'm not a cook. I did my research and came up with directions. Now since I don't normally cook pumpkins I bought 5 pie pumpkins to make baby food and pie. After I cut 3 open I realized there is more "meat" in them than I thought. I had enough pumpkin from 3 pie pumpkins to make 40oz of baby food and two pies.I also baked the seeds. Yum!

I used a recipe from the Throwdown cookbook. The pumpkin pie on the right was completely from scratch, filling and crust, it was so much pumpkin that it actually made 2 pies and the one on the left I used a pre-made pie crust. It is delicious!

Ben wasn't feeling his best this weekend. He got his second round of the flu shot Friday and we also found out he had a minor ear infection... poor guy. So he had some fussy times over the weekend.

He did enjoy swinging for the first time.

Sunday we carved pumpkins and went to our neighborhood Halloween party.
Pretty darn good, if I do say so myself :) I actually had a Bulldog fan take a picture of it with his phone to forward to his friends.
